INTRODUCTION  



This lesson was developed in fulfillment of a graduate course requirement for Edcational  Technology, EDU 575, at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga in the spring of 2007.


This webquest was designed to be used as a culminating end of the year activity in a high school biology I course.  It is meant to educate high school students on the current environmental issues facing our global society and prompt them to apply the scientific principles, concepts, theories and knowledge they have accumulated throughtout the year to real topics of great concern and importance.  Hopefully, all students will be able to make more informed decesions relatiave to the environment after the project is completed and mayhaps even be catylst of change within their communities on all different scales.

Environmental issues are hot topics and thus research is constantly expanding our knowledge on such issues.  Thus, the most up to date information is often found on the internet instead of textbooks. Therefore this webquest is designed to prompt students to access such information sources thereby allowing said students to learn  the most current up to date information available.
