JROTC Activities
“There is nothing impossible to him who will try.”
-Alexander the Great
Rock Climbing
The fear of heights was conquered twice this year with the National Guard’s rock wall. Each cadet was given the opportunity to reach for the sky. Many of our cadets were successful in their endeavors and were rewarded with confidence.
PT/Cadet Challenge
The Pioneer Battalion has put a greater emphasis on improving Physical Training, or PT, this past year. We now have two days of Physical Training and have increased the amount of effort put into every exercise. We train out cadets to participate in an annual competition, The Cadet Challenge, in which the top five girl cadets and the top five boy cadets are awarded medals to wear on their uniform.
White Water Rafting
Each year, the Pioneer Battalion provides the opportunity for every cadet to face their fears on the Ocoee River! On September 8th, we took roughly 60 high-spirited cadets to the Ocoee Whitewater Rapids. Some “rode the bull,” and some tested the waters, but everyone had a blast. No one left their raft the same person that they were when they got on. Every brave cadet was awarded an Adventures Training ribbon to wear on their uniform.
