Colonel Christopher

Colonel Christopher was born and raised in Morton, Mississippi. He entered the Army after graduation from the University of Southern Mississippi's ROTC program as a Distinguished Military Graduate, then served the military for 27 years before retiring and becoming the SAI of East Ridge High School. Colonel Christopher served in many different positions such as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Company Commander, Battalion Commander, Plans and Operations Officer, Battery Commander, Nuclear Security Officer, Senior Army Advisor to the state of Oklahoma, and presently the SAI at East Ridge High School.

Sergeant Major McCosh

James R McCosh SGM (retired) has beem traching JROTC in exsess of 20 years. He retired in October of 1984 with 22 years ofr service and is married with children and resides in Decatur, TN. He is decorated wit hthe Silver Star, Bronze Star, and CIB, he is Drill Sergeant Qualified. He has served as Senior ROTC Instuctor and has served at Ooltewah High School and Central High School before coming to East Ridge High School. He teaches the sophomores basic leadership qualities and principles, as well as first aid, helping further the leadership abilities, helping them to prepare for future years in JROTC.

Command Sergeant Major Monroe

Command Sergeant Major Bonza L. Monroe entered the Army in and served as a Drill Instructor, Human Resource Manager, Senior Career Advisor Manager, Operations Manager and a Personal Training Manager for the U.S. Army until 1998 when he retired from the service. He then became the Command Sergeant Major at East Ridge High School. CSM Monroe teaches the freshmen class basic LET information futher preparing them for upcoming years in JROTC. CSM Monroe also has a Bacheor of Science in Criminal Justice and an Associate of Science in Law Enforcement. The Pioneer Battalion is proud to have such an accomplished leader at East Ridge High School.
